Best spear fishing on the east coast?

I'm new to spear fishing and hoping to get some butters, moki and octopus.

I'm going on a 11 day trip along the east coast from Lottin Point to Mahia. So my question is; where is the best areas on the east coast for spear fishing? Anyone had had any experience on the east coast?

Lottin Point? Mahia? Tolaga?

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

It's good to know Lottin point is a nice spot.  I'll be there in November.  Hopefully no sharks around.
