Oh my stars; I didn't know that! How come snapper tolerate such low salinity?
And speaking of flounder and eels, I wish I can catch flounder on bait or ajing lures, but I don't like catching eels because they are protected.

I've no idea what the salinity of the river is at various points, but I've seen a family fishing under the Te Matau a Pohe Bridge with a bucket of borderline legal snapper.
