Hi all.
I've got a tn50 that has developed what feels like a slight scrape of the spool against the frame. Worried that may have bent shaft or collapsed spool a little bit. any preliminary thoughts before tackling it.

Damn bronzy, she never had a chance!!!!!

As you said, probably bent spool shaft or one of the spool bearings starting to flog out.
If you spin the spool very lightly with your fingers you may be able to find where it catches, put a mark on the spool and frame that lines that spot up; if it hits at the same alignment every spin then the shaft is probably bent, if it's apparently random then it's probably a bearing.

Thanks Rozboon. So I pulled the reel out of the band aid box and tried what you suggested. The slight scrape never seemed to be in the same spot. So then I put a bit more weight on and the scrape is still there but no worse. put reel in gear and pulled line off light drag hard drag, scrape still there(note this is a Verry light Scrape.). By this time I had determined that it was coming from the side of the reel, so whipped of the end plate and saw the prob straight away. The pin that holds the livebait tension dial had come out and was sitting on the bottom of the plate touching spool. reassembled and all good. going to need further work as pin is loose so it'll be staying home tomorrow!
