Hi Whiti,

Just came back the other week....went with Sea Turtle charters captained by Ian....nice guy...ex pom who was a chef on the island but took up fishing for a living. He has all his own gear....cost $400 for 6 hours but doesnt provide snacks...make sure you talk to him what you get in regards to catch as some take the whole fish while others will give you a portion...in my case I left him the whole fish...cheers mate and have a blast

Out of curiosity what did you catch Michaelk?

Depending on what you want to catch may determine what charter you take, my advice would be to book one charter early in your trip, go over and do it and then book another once you've talked to a few operators. I talked to a lot of people who had been on different charters to us, they all seemed to enjoy it so I'd say most operators put on a good day. Because a lot of them take the fish and sell it they are inclined to target what they know is going to produce the most money for them at the end of the day so if you have something in particular you want to catch then it might pay to tell them that when booking.

Yea mate me too, that's where the money is when selling their fish so if you don't want to catch them best to say so right from the get go
