Is it worthwhile having a crack for perch/tench?

If not, any other spots nearby PN are worthy mentions?

Might be worth contacting the local Fish and Game to find out or the Wellington/Hutt Valley coarse fishing clubs. They have excellent water at Otaki.
Good luck.

To follow up - fished the lagoon in 2 spots - no luck for either. F&G Wellies said it wasn't in a great state, fish haven't been added in a while. I guess, if there's anything, it's going to be out of reach by the bank with the overhanging trees.

Moved on after and fished the Manawatu river though - caught 9 rainbows & kept a pair of 3 pounders for dinner, and they were tasty.

Additionally, noticed a lake near IPC up Summerhill, anyone know if it contains anything?
