Hi Jason
Ok the Abu 6000 is a small reel so providing you are using light line, around 6kg will work best, and I would recommend upgrading drag washers to carbontex, be prepared for long fights and it will work fine. Patience and a good rod will help for this.
Not the ideal reel for kingfish if you are into winching them in, best to use slightly larger gear.
Smilecheers swordfishsteve

Hi
I would think the Abu Revo is a bit small to use for Kingfish from beach or wharf, more like the TLD 25 size reel , most baitcasters are not designed to use for large fish like Kingfish, one I do rate is the Daiwa Lexa 300 HP, this reel has some serious power and nice quality, cheers swordfishsteve
