A nice yellowfin tuna coming to the weighstation this afternoon. Angler Hamish Sheard, caught on 15kg line. Skipper Alastair Sheard, guy getting in the way, Marlin Candy, of the boat SHAGZ.

Back from 7 days out of Whangaroa.
7 days of rough seas but at least the fishing was shyte.
Got a decent mahi on day 6, then a knock down from a rigger which we diagnosed as swell and chop but at end of day a chaffed leader told us different.
Skippies hard to find but more albies except for last day when we wanted some to take home.
Still good fun out with mates.
My square head Tomahawk lures accounted for the mahi and the knock-down. They seem to be very attractive lures but lumo and Mrs Palmer are good colour patterns.

Wow that is hard fishing Roy. Cheers for sharing. Mate got a couple YFT off the knuckle on 30th but tough all along the East this year. Lets hope something happens soon.

We still enjoyed our trip. The 17.00 pink gin shifted forward to 16.00 while in the very capable hands of our skipper Chris Brittain.
You can't buy weather or fish. All our gear was known winners, no point keep changing lures.
Going fly fishing for trout next week....still no guarantees, though!

CONFIRMED NZ RECORD! Well done team a nice way to finish the season off 66.2kg on 15kg a new record in Womans class.
