What’s everyone hearing? I heard a good sized blue fin tuna was landed out of bay of islands last weekend. Might be interesting trolling for blue fin and maybe an early stripey?

There's now been at least 4 landed and a bunch hooked and dropped, majority have been around Wairere Rock just south of Brett with some action directly off the Hole in the Rock and Bird rock. All on big livebaits in around the schooling fish, in close in 15-30ish meters.

Worth noting that they're Pacific Bluefin with the fish landed so far being 184kg to 211kg so definitely fish the heavy kit if you're going to have a crack

I've heard it was very crowded around Waiwiri Last couple days but I haven't heard of any more caught.
