manukau bar was big this mornin but well worth the cross for the conditions on the other side were stunnin, very quiet on the marlin side of things not even a free jumper but thats not to say its over yet .  the bait is every wher and no shortage of it thats for sure ..

we didn't see any either ,still plenty of skippies around and bait schools from the bar out to 95 m

we went south to about 500 m out from port waikato and worked the area from there into 120  then made our way back up to 95 m sw of the bar  where we started to get into the skippys , nuthin but albatrosses and small flying fish further south .sure was a mint day to be out there could see for miles when up on them lazy swells

trolled baits around  45-55m just south of the bar for the day , lot of skippies ,kahawai , mackeral, nothing really happened though. Beautiful out there , rolling swells and you could see the fish boiling on the surface .

Was hopeing to get out wide tomorrow for an over night stay but have 4 meter swells and building at the present time. Not good for crossing the kawhia bar. Have heard from my eyes in the sky that there are still good numbers of marlin out there. All around the mackrel schools.

Pity it's duck shooting this weekend as the weather looks better for fishing than ducks.
