Apparently the swords pretty much swim strait to the surface once hooked so you dont need to worry about line capacity just the arms in winding 800m! I've used the 700m rated lights to about 800 and they seemed to be okay. Were you able to mark bait on the sounder in that depth BA?

Looks like we are going to do the snappa tourny sat and then weather permitting refuel and head straight back out and fish sat night around the aldie knoll.
If anyone else is going to be out there drop me a line, it can be a lonely place out there at night especially when you are only 5.2mtrs and would be good to know for safety reasons.

People say if fishing was easy then it would be called catching, I say these people who say that obviously had a bad day's fishing.

We ended up pulling the pin for a sword mish sat as the sea state around Cuvier wasnt the best especially for 5.2mtr boat, however when drifting for snapps north of cuvier in 70mtrs of water we had a s/marlin swim straight past the boat not 12feet away from us, you could clearly see the stripes and he wasnt a big fish either, wicked when it was the 2nd of june, 17deg water and pee soup water.

Was the highlight of the trip Thumbs Up
