Heading north tommorow on Blue Dog with Capt Dean Butler, hoping for a bluse nose or two. Have any billfish been seen up off the Cav,s lately? Any info grealty apreciated as we plan to troll for look as well.

Covered a few miles at a great rate of speed, bedding in new motors today. Trolled for five hours from 180 back of cavallis out to the 400 meter line in front of Whangaroa, Saw some Dolphins and gannets feeding on Saury, as well as a few pilot whales. Best water was 17.2 around the 200m mark.
 30 knots homeward bound in a 45 foot boat is a nice feeling, A few gemfish and Puka rounded out the day nicely.

cool will be going north if weather allows for the weekend will be looking inside the garden patch appears fish are there, may as well go and have a looksee and a day time drop on the tounge could be in order

Bought the boat back down over the last few days. Got skippies off takou in 90 metres and between Tutes and the hen in about 75 metres. The best water, and it was blue was off Takou where the skippies were and I couldn't help but wonder...

Cheers BA. Had 15 light tackle rods on board for the light tackle tourney so space was an issue but pulled 1 medium sized lure on 10kg across the bay. Caught an awesome lump of seaweed on it...peeled 20 metres on the first run. lol

I slapped him around a bit and threatened to throw all the rum overboard. Besides we had to make room for all the whitebait we were chowing down on for breakfasts. The pukkers still insisted on 2 90 litre icyteks in the cockpit though with the result being the cockpit was constantly awash from oceanic ingress through the stern scupper...the things one must put up with...I dunno
