Thats a nice black. got to be plenty of them kicking it around nz if only we towed livies and skip baits more often.

I agree with you Mozz, I am sure if you stayed inside 100m and worked bits of foul with livies or skip baits you would get a shot at a black or two plus plenty of stripeys. But it is hard to stay in close when there are blue marlin just over the horizon.

This one was taken on a lure looked sort of horrible yellow-ish colour not too big either. I missed the RT on when and where but I know it was a long fight to a woman angler and they couldn't get it onboard so had to slow troll it most of the way back. Took them hours. Thats why I went for a look see as I thought it must be BIG. Anyway they don't come accross the gantrys very often so wanted to see one.

Got to learn not to use the flash at this distance also the upload to this site made them worse. I can read the board on the original pic. Was caught during the day. Just took them ages to get back in Gills all flared from toeing backwards. Weight was 237, boat was Riv1.

I had a chat with the lady who got the Black last night down at the club .......... 3.45 hours in the chair, she's a bit sore in the arms and legs LOL.  They were Sth of the pinnacles.

A text from Kezza today, the ITM CEO tagged a stripey in 80m off Tutukaka this morning.

I wonder if it was the boat I heard on the VHF this morning about 9.30am reporting the hookup  AC?

Did Kezza film the action do you know?
