We were out Monday but swells and wind were a right pain in the ar$e.

Went out behind Aldies to 400/500m area for a look around, not much in the way of birds/bait and water temp was 19.6-19.9. Spent a while trolling north then back south but no sign of bait so moved out to the 1000/1500m square area over the back of Aldies. Didn't get much done here as the swells were so steep and so close together it was getting a bit hairy as we had to turn into about every 3rd swell to prevent going roly poly. Water temp out there was 19.8-20.0 and there was a little bit of sign but we decided to come back in due to conditions becoming unsafe.

Water quality isn't the best of Whit/aldie area, not until you reach aldie rise

Good to see you the other day Tobez!, yeah at that time we were just having a stooge around the Aldies in close looking at kingies spots, didn't have any gear in the water then.

Some one told me that in close near whale was holding fish could this be true?
Hoping to take the boys out from work this weekend have not looked at weather yet but sounds like we would not be the only ones out there.
Has anyone been up to the footprint lately ?
Born to fish made to work

Still fish here ,have heard  a fair few fish at 400m NE aldies pulling string but not hooking up .Just heard on VHF vessel not sure if Y/Fin or bigeye had a crack at lure but didnt hook .Was marlin at hook yesterday as well ,nothing weighed to my knowledge ,weather ,work ,and people counting pennies means less boats chasing fish each week at moment

well done. on a lure or bait? coming up for the weekend and wondering wether to bring up 4 reels to tow plastic or just 2 for baits. reading all the messages, neither seem to be working any better than the other. what was your water temp then?
