A 93.4kg stripey weighed today, can't remember boat/angler particulars, but was caught off the Red, and not very far out either. Get into it, there's still some about...

Went out to get some skippies on saturday went out to castle because Epic said there were heaps of fish there.
We got a bin full for up and coming bottom fishing trips thanks Epic.
looked for a marlin but no show. A mate got one on Friday at 120 of castle and then dropped one on saturday.
Hope this helps as I know it can be a bit secret squirrel over at Whiti.
Also had an other boat say they had 2 fish of Red in 130 mark so fish are still there good luck as my season is at an endCryCryCry

Looks like the trip is now for next weekend, so I am expecting a second "run" of marlin to arrive by, say, thursday, so they will be just leaping into the boat next weekend.
Well... one can dream, n'est-pas?

went out today from opito bay fished the morning for snaps. landed 3 over 20lb and the weather looked to good not to head wide so packed up the small gear and put the lures in the water around 2:30. we found hundreds of birds working around the 160 mark behind red mercury and not long after had our first strike Smile but it didnt last longCry. after about 20min dolphins showed up crashing bait fish and as we got near a pod a decent blue broke the water crashing through the bait and thats were the day ended but its still a good sign that the marlin are still there as for the 2 hours we spent trowling we saw 2 fish even though the water never got about 19.1
