a nice looking head we saw in Big Fish's chiller

it looked like a stripey, managed a little sample of salmon coloured flesh, it tasted like s/m

and wow a wonderful looking effort on the photos on the camera.

a magnificant effort, a great fish for the big fish fishing club, where there is one there are more?

trolling one knot faster, one degree off course, is where we should have been yesterday? or !

They sure do have some XXL fish off the West coast! Alastair, congratulations to both you and Richard, and that's a great example of proving what Kiwis are damn good at - catching full-sized fish from tinnies!  I'd heard about this catch when I was up north and it was great to read the story and see the pics. Well done.

Went over the bar today.. headxed out from Piha to 350m
great day , glassy,
caught quite a few skipps, 2 alberts , 2 rat kings, they were way out wide 300m- under a log,  and bottom bounced on the way in at 35m for a few ky.

Skips were all over from 40m to 350m, but no real workups except at about 40m on way home at 4pm...
and we only got hit by skips 50 -135m ,  a bit puzzling ,
and not much bait at all on sounder, I think 2 small bait balls about 60 & 80m deep

temp hit 21.6

Not a sign on any marloon,

saw a couple of sharks but no hookups , thank god , I am over catching makos & losing gear to them as well  ..

cheers

Mark
