Was yaking to a guy in Opononi yesterday,     He was saying a few guys have been out of Hokianga and seen nothing.     He did say that there has been marlin sighted down off Glinks.

Good luck if you get out.       The swell on the bar was about 1.5 to 2.0  meters.

That could be the best bet but a little far for a day trip for myself. I will give it a go on the west if the forecast holds and try and Get the west coast on the board.

give it heaps mate, the only reason or one of them that they are up here would be the ammount of boats out looking for them over this time, its the same every year, put 50 boats over the west and they will be found.

Your right it makes it harder to find the fish with less people out there trying.Usually a few start coming across the scales when competitions kick off such as the counties one base in early February. This is the first good weather window for awhile so hopefully there will be a few other boats out.

That's good news Craysee. In another 4 weeks there will be marlin everywhere over the coast. I better get my entry in.
