Of all the rope/cords/twines I have tried as an anchor rope this is by far the best and the cheapest.   It is a 3mm braided polyblend twine that does not twist.    It comes in 1kg lots and cost about $25.    I have over 100m on my winder, which allows me to anchor in up to 70m of water.

As this is posted under the Kayaks forum presume it is for a Kayak
If not and it's on a boat you'll probably not get insurance if anything goes wrong.
Low strength,  possibly melt easily especially if a boat's bouncing off it generating heat.
Good for nets and hanging cloths off.

You don't find the 3mm a bit pain full on the hands when retrieving the anchor Rainbow ?

otto since it's in the "kayak fishing forum" and rainbow fishes from a "kayak" it's fair to say he's not recommending using 3mm rope to anchor the queen mary !Ermm

looks good rainbow and cheap i'll see if i can find some in chch. nylg i currently use 3mm poly rope its fine on the hands, you can fit heaps on a winder  and its plenty strong enough to anchor a kayak.....but not the queen mary!!LOL

No problem pulling up a 1.5kg folding anchor and chain from any depth.     I pull it hand over hand and spill the line into the water as I drift with the wind.    Once the anchor and the chain is on board all the line is trailing in a big loop and  is very easy to wind up.
