Hard luck SkiBro and MiltBro...churr for the invite thou.

Another coupla weeks it'll be lousy with applecorez and the macks will be stacking up off The Lion.

Try Kahawai in your kokoda fulla.

Should be planning a bait soaking at freighttrain!!

A positive marlin sighting by these guys out at 280m off Manukau, it turned to look at their lures then just swam away .....

.....but they got a couple of biggish albies, I reckon this will go 7kg. They had two this size one took a marlin lure (bet that was a 30 second adrenalin rush!) the other took a tuna lure. Tuna were out at 130m.

Caught a couple of frigate tuna off gannet yesterday. If we can organise weather and work fishb8 would be keen to run two 5m boats out there. Rechecked frigate tuna and probably a blue mackrel. Tastes nice like tuna and closely related

woke up a bit late and a bit of a sore head yesterday. Lying in bed looked at the forecast...! Bloody mint! What am I doing in bed !!! Made it out to rags and launched boat at about 2:00PM straight out to gannet. Jigged up some nice kings up to 15/16kg. Decided to troll some skippy lures back along 50m line heading back to rags. Water upto 20c got half dozen albies, 3 - 6kg in bout hours trolling. At 50m was quite a few birds about, not just gannets either. Saw some bait fish behind the boat jumping ( maybe saurie ) water still deep greeny blue. Next mission might be out to the shelf I think

Just spent Friday and Saturday over the Manukau bar with Karm, cheers for a bloody good trip Mark.

Friday we headed north out to the 400m line.  Found some action on the way back in the afternoon about 130m off Piha with gannets bombing bait.  Saw one big skippy school but they were feeding on krill.  Got a few decent alberts on bullet heads and the bungy.  Had a very big albert take a "Whakatane Special" (thanks Murph) but I pulled the hook in my excitement.

Saturday we headed south, dolphins and gannets working bait at 80-100 south of the bar.  Had a mako take an albert off us on the retrieve and had a big take on the shotgun under a bird later on but trhe species is unknown.  Got as far south as Port Waikato before turning around as the wind was starting to get up.  Got another couple of alberts on the way back nearer to Manukau than Port.

The water wasn't that flash, dull blue, and the temp was a fairly steady 19deg with no temp breaks either day.  Stickface didn't come for a stickbeak at our spread but can't be too far away.  Still was good to be out there and run the new toys.
I waste most of my money on fishing tackle. The rest I invest in women and booze.
