Martin's Bay looks good. Never been there. Google Earth says a 0.77 km walk to the point. Easy peasy.

Yep , its a good spot to cover walking options , also sheltered for Kayaks , and good beach launching for boats, there are ramps nearby for anyone with a bigger boat. I imagine some rock drop offs could be arranged between members also.
Blue Asparagus - I will get Derrick to contact you

Heres some evidence that a small conclave did assemble last nite for the first "friday nite casting".
It was good fun , and each of us got valuble insight from the others on aspects of our casting. We laid out some targets and moved them five meters  once we were hitting them , and also worked on a backhand delivery and double hauling.Between us we had a bunch of rods to try and thought of some casting games to try out next time. Keeping it short and sweet makes alot of sense and I really hope to see a few more casters next time, just turn up even with out gear.

It'd be a pleasure Matto, we should organise a club day down here on Tauranga harbour. I have a great spot... casting session in the morning and then as the tide rolls in we hit the channels and flats in search of leviathans. Big park right next to a very productive flat.

Noted, we'll aim to alternate between Saturday, Sunday and whole weekends where we can.

Looking forward tot he 30th Nov - I'll unleash myself upon some unsuspecting SWF mentor ;)
Consider me a work in progress too!

Yep , my idea is that it's a regular thing , but not dependant on any commitment to be there. In that way if it suits someone to do an hours practice and they are all alone , it is still time well spent. It looks like there will be a few who  turn up as regulars. I will let people know if anything special is planned , or if the tides are good to have an on-water session. I am planning on being there again this Friday ( unless the family have other plans for me). It was more fun than I had imagined and comments from others can be really helpful. Keeping it  7-8pm makes it an easy thing to do.
