I'm planning a trip up to rangiputa over summer and was wondering if anyone knew about lake rotokawau and if it is accessible for boats. Also how is the fishing in the harbour ill be taking up the 12fter so most of our fishing will probably be in or just outside the harbour.
cheers Scotto

One word. Epic. Fish everywhere up there. Dont even need a boat. Massive current in main channels so pays to either take hand lines or heavy gear and big sinkers or fish edges and burley hard.

I'll check if you wish, but I don't think you can launch there. It is a small lake and just down the road is Lake Ngatu which you can launch at and is considerably bigger. Fishing salt water though, that's a whole new great ball-game up this way.
