Do you now if the Tekapo canal is fishable? Last I heard was it was partly drained.

Wow that's a good fish. Are fish in that 10 lb plus class regular catches? How common is it to hook up on one, either dusting you off or landing it.

I'm thinking of heading to twizel in July for a couple of days fishing the canals. Wasn't too sure whether the fishing would be quiet at this time of year (posted comments from previous years suggest that fishing can still be on the bite?). Was also wondering if different techniques work better than others at this time of year. Any advice appreciated as would rather save it for another day if July not so good.
