Hi guys you will have to try using this jigs for any fish.We have caught lost of snapper/kingies/gunards/john dory/ travelly/barakuda/kahawai etc.

Very effective jig and these are home made.We never fish with baits but only with this jig.

Let me know if you keen to buy some.Have diffrent sizes.

Pics here.

Thats in and around the Coromandel Harbour/islands. Up the top coast it can be a very different story and I reckon fishes better with a bit if chop on the water.
Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish caught will we realise we can't eat money.

yep would have to agree with bab for top of the coro,as for the kings on the marker poles if the kings are just following, wind lures as fast as poss,(to get them really reved up)then have another angler ready to cast a bait(pillie, piper, piece of squid) right infront of them no movement of it let flutter(to bottom),or deploy a live bait back to them on surface or the running rig on bottom,if its around full moon period kingfish can be very fussy

Try spraying ur jigs or stickbait black and see if u can make them angry, otherwise big kahawai live bait under a balloon and cut the tail off leaving only the nub, this way the big kings will have a easier feed but will weed the rats out
Strike while the irons hot
