strange to see them go through the farms alright

fished a massive work up off Omaru bay coro west  a few weeks back with 50+ dolphins in the shallows going hard.

caught 2 keepers for 12hrs on the water that day, saw bush billy heading out as we came in so could have the got the bite time wrongLOL

Sweet as. so hard to photo as come up for few seconds then down for 3-4 mins and low.zoom camera. glad ya enjoyed them

Just heard on radio 1ZB  -a southern wright whale gave birth to a calf off Browns Bay this morning.
Hope our local orcas are off eating stingrays somewhere else.

Sorry these were from the tiri area saturday but prob the same whales seen in browns bay area today.

Just saw on the news there are only 2000 southern right whales in nz and 10000 worldwide so makes me feel pretty lucky to see one

The one with the dorsal is a Brydes Whale, they are permanent Gulf residents.

Love that pic. I think that is Brandon Stone of the Mount there on assignment in the Campbell Islands. He reckons they were real inquisitive, interactive and yet soo gentle this day in the shallows. Amazing creatures.
