Hi guys hope I'm in the right place  I built a live bait tank works well only problem i keep on having to remember to turn it on to circulate the water and to switch it off i got the pump hooked up to a separate battery so no draining problems, does anyone know of a timer switch i can use, or have one built with a 15min off and a 5 min on cycle  you can get them off the net but the cost is a bit much just under $100 US  any help or advise is much appreciated and pics or diagrams will be welcomed and it should help a few of us with tanks

thanks in advance to all

What about using a float switch and just leaving a slow leak in the bottom of the tank? So when the level drops below a certain point, fresh water is pumped in automatically? Would need to trick the switch to work opposite to how they are designed though.

Am currently looking into building one, discussing it with father-in-law (ex electrial engineering prof), will post back if I do. I'm looking at running it on a portable 12v system for LBG.

Well I finally hooked up my timer from Cabelas, works great. Runs for 30seconds every 3 minutes, works a treat. Think it cost around $60 - $70 to get here.
