Went 4 a fish on the Manukau twice in the last two weeks. First trip netted 12 carrots and 30 scallops. Second trip netted 7 carrots and 11 scallops. Best rig I found is the long trace sliding rig with bonito bait. Tried all sorts of bait but this bait got the most fish by far. I launched from Cornwallis and mooched in depths of 10metres max. (Incoming tide) Found the shallower water with least current a success

Believe it or not most of our larger carrots were caught quit close to the ramp!! You must also burley constantly, we always hooked up about 10 min after each burley up....using the bonito frames worked a treat.

Tight lines Cheers CeeBee
