PE5 , here are some photos of how I do my trim bands , I am sure there are other ways , but this will give you a starting point .

looks more like an inlay to me ... HA HA.....
 
I do mine completely differently to this too - maybe its an older methid.....I'll take pics next time I do them ......

Yeah that's how I do mine, don't use any tape though but I think the tape method makes sense , now I've seen it.. Now let's have a debate about whether to put the ends on top of the rod or under neath! Wink As for me, I put mine inline with the guide feet.

yerrr inlay , Spin I put on the side of blank , casting other side of guide feet [ bottom ] , reason so when you are fishing you will not see where wrap has be finished .

yep - thats the way to do it - so you cant see them when you are fishing
