next saturday morning looks too good to be true.
went out on the kayak straight off the beach yesterday, no luck but was hard to actually fish in 25km/h winds. i think next saturday is a go off the beach again!
0.1m swell bugger all wind

That was my first for the harbour season last year, 20/9/19. About 50cm I think.

yea looks like the good weather has drifted off to monday onwards. oh well,
i use windguru.cz or google search weather (with the little slider to check winds at different times of day) seems best and swell just use metservice.

But saturday does have the best wind direction/ swell for kayaking off the beach so it should be good.

Kitno you are the king of the harbour. So I'm not so sure I'd have the same luck.

What water temperature do you think they start coming in?

I wouldn't consider myself king of the harbour. There's plenty of guy's around that do really well and better than me. As far as water temperatures go, when A Buoy is 14.5 , that's a good starting point. I'd say they're in now.

We were along matakana in the afternoon. 2 snapper and a kahawai. Drifting with bait and softbaiting. Still a novice with soft baiting so had a few tails bitten off and dropped strikes and not that great a selection of softbaits on board but it was obvious they had much more potential than bait

Got out this avo, with my son. Between 12 -16mts off matakana. Softies with natural colors, new penny the best, ended up with 3 snaps and a carrot out from 1400 to 1530, heaps of boats out and about!
