Hey guys has anybody been out to the Firth end of Waiheke lately? My fishing time has increased and I've got a trip on for the Kauri Point site. Anybody ben there in the last few days/weeks?
Normally I like to stay around the northern Gulf but it's time to venture around the island again.
Thanks, Ross
Ross,
The Ahaa's fished OK yesterday afternoon, we fished the 18m pin just east of the main group, nothing huge but on advice from a forum member we went for a sniff, definatly worth the trip, we caught some small jackies and used the flanks for the bigger fish, nothing over 5lbs though and I couldn't stay until dusk for a decent crack, the sounder showed the place alive with schools.
Cheers
AC
Ross,
some of my mates were fishing the bottom end the other week and got about 3 over 4 kg and the best was 7kg. they were fishing by "the caves".
cheers
HI,
Was out there last weekend and found the fishing pretty good. Lots of small fish but the occasional good one came aboard. Outgoing tide as I recall was best.
Cheers,
Tim
