Lake Rotorua's surface water temperature rose 0.4 of a degree between 7am and 1pm. The wind has been west of North most of the morning and  has increased from 8.3kph at 7am  to 25.2kph at 1pm. Algae levels have dropped from 3.6 to 2.1.  Barometric pressure is stable at 1012.8hPa and humidity has dropped from 81% to 63%. The temperature at 2.20pm was 22 degrees C  with some clouds around the hills. The UV Idex is extreme at 11+.

Lake Rotoiti's surface water temperature rose 0.07 of a degree between 7am and 1pm.  The thermocline is still between 14 and 16 metres.

There was almost total cloud cover up until 11am this morning and the fishing was slow, once the sun broke through the catch rate improved dramaticaly.  Nymphs are still the flavour of the month, though green orbits, grey ghosts and other smelt patterns are taking fish.  There quite a few large browns crusing and actively feeding off Hamurana and can be caught on gold bodied jack sprats or similar.  With the current wind direction the cold water plume at Hamurana is being pushed to the left.  Most fish seem to be on the outside of the main cold water plume.
