Interesting that they're made by Atomic and have Gamakatsu hooks. If you go into a shop over in Australia, they have a lot of Atomic stuff including softbaits and hard body lures.

Anywhere from Perth north, across the top and down about as far as southern Queensland would be awesome. Just stay in your kayak, and don't dangle your feet over the side!!

Bad luck in the promotion playoff game on Sunday morning, mate. I've got a couple of Villa mates at work who were pretty down in the dumps on Monday. Not to mention the Scousers. ouch.

Apologies for hijacking your fishing thread! There's no better place to be as a football fan than England when their team's making a run through a big comp. I was there in Euro 96 and it was a fantastic atmosphere - until they lost to Germany in a shootout and people ran around burning any poor sucker's BMW!
It's weird looking at the drawthis time and seeing no Holland, no Italy, no Chile...

Hey fellas.
Does anyone know how tidal the Army Bay ramp is? For launching a small inflatable. Cheers!

Launched at army around 1pm, paddled out to hauroa point (end of the peninsula) and cast softies around the foul. Had a great scrap with a 58CM in 4m of water, he was really strong for his size, I was expecting something much bigger to come to the surface!

Got onto a few more in around 10m on a dropoff near some foul, z man motor oil shads n 1/4oz jighead worked OK.

Not fast and furious but great quality fish, one at 58cm, 2 at 50ish and one at 40cm.

Cool, I just tied up 3 x 2 hook ledger rigs with black magic KL5/0's.

Might also run a cheeky strayline with a big bait on...

What baits are good for gurnard?

Managed to get out for a paddle Sunday arvo when the wind and rain stopped for a while, took a rod for a bit of a flick but didn't really fish much as the water looked like soup. Nice to get the paddle wet and get a few km practice in, it was an eerily calm window amongst all that wild weather.
Could be keen on the grunter hunt Dan, where you thinking?
