Yeah I'm thinking tomorrow too, but I hear ya, Ive not been doing much padding lately...
Weather looks pretty good first thing so I'm planning to be there 5:30ish but only out for around 4 hours max. Was hoping to read some scorching reports about how it was firing at the moment...

Always makes me hesitant when Dans opts out, like he know something we dont, and it usually results in us getting skunked.

Enjoyed your chat about the wind the other day lads, nothing quite like a wind against tide 20knt southerly in late July at Orere. No one believes you until they come and then they never come again, haha. Looking forward to some more desirable conditions in the morning.

Went kawau north channel yesterday perfect conditions but hard fishing, a lot of yakkers out there including a tribe of stealths! Ended up with a reasonable feed from out deep, guy I was with did much better using gulp softbaits and smaller jigs think he had 2 around the 10-12lb mark and kept telling me there was a 20lbers there.... He hooked it...then after a minute it bit through his trace 😂😭 was on jig so it either swalled the whole thing or he got unlucky with where it was hooked. Plenty of boat traffic and work ups in the distance....

Headed out in perfect conditions yesterday morning from OP. Was a slow morning with big gaps between fish managed 5 between 38- 50cm off the water at 930am. My sounder has been playing up lately and lost my charts 2 trips ago and this time it completely died so fished blind for the first time in years, Hummingbird helix 5 about 6 years old never had any trouble in the past , mite be time for a new one, any suggestions?
Travelling home the road between KawaKawa bay Clevedon was like SH 1 at Warkworth on Boxing Day.
