Its the first time I think I've ever said it but unlucky Dan! Not often you come home without the target species mate. As evidenced by the wife 'placing the order' before you go! I know its bad luck to be superstitious, but I think she might have jinxed you Wink
Yes Brett thats the sticky bugger that got me! Cool to see what he looked like - before and after he attached himself.

Just stick another Occy to his hull Dan, easiest way for us plastic riders to keep up! Surprised how long he stayed fixed on, maybe trying to escape all those snapper below him...

It is a Fisha 550, I think I am the third owner, fairly tidy though. Haven't paddled it yet, been working on one of our cars. What kind of moron hides the starter motor hard up under the inlet manifold??

Fisha550, thats a long one, mine only just fits in the garage at 5m. You're going to get that extra bit of glide being a bit narrower and longer, you'll love it. I paddled a 525 and 575 before I bought mine and they were noticeably slicker through the water but liked the extra bit of stability of the 500. Especially coming from a plastic PF400 which was really wide and stable.
I initially spent a few days just down at the beach (during the summer) getting on and off it in deep water so I'm comfortable how far you can tip it. It feels a lot safer when coming in on a wave as well, they surf really well.
Good luck with the car!

Yeah I’m gonna do some re entry drills for sure, find the tipping point etc. are you hanging yours on slings in the garage? I have a long carport area with 4 x 4 posts along both sides, will probably rig something up there.

Yeah Jones is a bit dicey!
I made a up a rack so I could stack the kayak and paddle boards, and can roll it around if I need to.

Nice work BMY- i might have to do something similar as i (drum roll) have just bought my father in laws Viking Esprit for my little guys to use! Except I'll need to stack them on their side and next to each other as i have zero wall space and they cant take up any more precious real estate in my ever dwindling man-cave... But thatll come after I fix the gate. And make a new kayak trolley. and.and.and :-)

Went out for a paddle off RB and into a stiff easterly yesterday eve. Was interesting going and pretty rough. Caught one tiddler but their was a highway of birds passing by man...

Nice idea BMY.
Yves if need a rack, a mate did the same make up as bmy but on the low side of a retaining wall - in the shade. Works a treat.

I was out at B.B. on sat morning and water was murky after the rain on Friday night.
Got a heap of 29s on the expensive gulp. 1 bait 1 bite, curly tail ripped off.

I'm fishing it on my mates tinny.

I fished it last year and we had intentions to fish it from the kayak but the 50 knot SW put paid to that and we fished from a boat. It was a really well run comp and I signed up straight away again for this year.

Too rough for the kayak on Sunday but managed to get out on a mates boat. Softbaited iris shoal and there were Snapper for Africa.

Took home 6 fish up to 50cm and put back many many more, most which were easy legal.

Unusual catch of the day was an occy on the softbaits which was promptly let go and stayed attached to the hull hiding from a shag for 20 mins.

I got out early Sunday morning and found some shelter amongst the cliffson the Peninsula. Did well also- nothing huge, but caught 6 keepers before 9.30. Small natural softies were the go. I tried catching a few Macs for the smoker on my little mac jig, but kept on catching goldfish so packed it in. Was a cool morning nonetheless :-)
