Yes great yaks Doublenda. With the tweaks to the new model it should be a winner.
I slide mine into my van so it saves me lifting. Kayak trolley stays attached so when i arrive im pretty much ready to go with everything loaded in the yak except rods.
Any longer than 4m won't fit in.

Hi all,
Our club day is on. 0.4m and 8-10kts for the morning. Meet at Rogers Road. Launching at 7am (I will be there earlier, so you can go out earlier if you want) . Prize giving will be at 12 o clock , so fish need to be weighed in before that. There will be 5 prizes for Club members and the $5 sweep (must be paid prior to launching) heaviest snapper under 60cm is open to anyone there. Might be a few extra Tga kayakers there.
See you Sunday£🤙
Mark
1st heaviest Gurnard
2nd heaviest Kingfish
3rd heaviest Kahawai
4th heaviest Trevally
5th heaviest Snapper (under 60cm)

Forecast is mint

Tomorrow looking good might avoid the crowds though and hit the harbour.

Nice one Raymond.

I fished the ebop club day hosted by allpom.
Launched with Newbie about 6am. Conditions mint but little drift and slow fishing. I kept 5 snaps 32 to 40cm and Newbie gave me a big Pigfish which are good eating.

Glassy

Nice one Mike.
I had a slow day. Was staying by a guy who was kayak fishing for the first time.
There were 12 club members fishing and 3 non members in the $5 sweep for heaviest snap under 60cm. Ash took this out. One guy put back a probably 20lber.
A great morning out finished off with sausages and drinks.

Awesome everyone. Maybe we should get this page going a bit better… perhaps a good show at that comp in December from us would be a spark. I’ll make more of an effort. We could also get ch69 banter going on vhf while out there?

Yeah Raymond I'm trying to get this firing again. The Facebook groups haven't really taken off and some of the bigger ones have little action lately.
We have alot of good banter on here and it would be a shame to lose it.

This is my go to for local info, along with FB. Was toying with going to Papamoa to meet a few of you guys but headed out the entrance to 25 Metres past A beacon. Slow day with flat calm for quite a while. 2 pannies kept and 1 undersize snapper plus a legal sized gurnard which I put back. Used micro jigs for the day. The gurnard too small to be eaten even though legal size wise. Nice to see the turn out down east. Some day when it is certified flat calm I'll make it to the east. Maybe for that December contest.
