Good work guys looked like mint conditions.
The guys usually get the odd Kingfish while softbaiting or using lures Bernacle. Livebaiting would be the best bet though.

I would like to give it a try with livebait trolling or just with a sinker while drifting not sure what would be better. The good thing with sinker drifting , could catch other species too. But kingies are on top or mid water so maybe better to troll to target them... any thought?

Looks like the weekend was firing!! Nicely done guys!!

Went off spot R this morning, pretty slow going but work ups everywhere once the sea glassed over around 10.

I managed four solid snaps and three trevs.

Friday-Pilot Bay to 26 metres past A Beacon to prove that I can catch almost as many small snapper out there as I can in the harbour.
Tuesday-Today Pilot Bay to 26 metres or so more out in front of Rabbit Island-spotted someone paddling in about 1000-drifted with micro jig with a bit better luck this time-only one throw back and 3 pannies-returned a couple of frisky kahawai. Beautiful day on the water.

Must have been you I saw paddling in doublenda. Where do you launch from? I use Pilot Bay but have to watch the tide. If possible leave on the last of outgoing tide and get a bit of incoming for drift. Have used Mount Beach but am pretty hopeless in any surf and it is also about a kilometre walk with kayak in tow to walk down there. Then find a place to lock up my trolley. Such is life.

Wow nice catch Doublenda.

I got out this morning between 6 and 9am.
Was a chilly southeast breeze out there.
Fishing was pretty slow but I got 4 decent pannies for dinner.
