Went out with Piwi, Luke ,Scottyboy and Matt. Firing from 9m , only did one drift as constantly caught for the first hour and then it slowed but still catching plenty.

Had a good day off Pukehina this morning. Woke some flying fish on my way out, awesome to see. Two big boys reefed me and I came in with 6.

Sounds good. Piwi I am simple ng to meet you there. Heard the sand ladder thing at karewa might have washed out a bit. Could be steep!

Launched at 6am with Phishpulla, Scottyboy, Ash, and my nephew.
Was a nasty little easterly wind out there which died and went light southerly later.
Drift was pretty fast and softbaits didn't get down as well as sliders and micro jigs.
I got one early then lost a good one after a big run. Trace snapped at jighead. I should have retied them after my last outing as my next fish snapped too just as I was netting it and I lost it.
Phishpulla was doing well and got 6 over 40cm. My nephew had a couple and I got 2 more towards the end.
Heath got a beaut 98cm Kingi.

Agree on conditionsā€¦ a bit tricky. I lost too many today. Ended up with 3 good snaps and only my second ever legal kingi. Came straight in after the kingi.
