I agree RLY. Could have done an ego page on there years ago but would rather banter with others on here. Our yak threads are the best on this site I reckon.

I post videos on facebook just for my mates in the UK. Who give my no end in ribbing on them lmao.

Nice one guys let's keep this thread alive.
Gdog I never noticed I was nearly at 5000 posts. I guess I need to get a life haha. As long as I never post as much as Muppet I'm happy 😂

DT that's a fatty nice work on a day where everyone else struggled.
It would be nice to see a Great Barrier Trip report with photos from you and Allpoms big adventure.

Yeah I’m not on Facebook either I just haven’t been out a lot this year but do report when I do. Barrier mothership trip was awesome I really enjoyed it and had plans of go proing heaps of footage but it’s just not for me and just fished hard. Caught a lot of fish but nothing massive a lot in the 8 to 12lb range. Definitely worth doing I’m hoping to go back next year.

Yeah I had the same attitude until they got the voice control one.
Now I find myself yelling "Gopro start recording" then "Gopro stop recording" before I kill my fish not to shock my mates on FB.
Because that is not a done thing on freshwater fish.

What do you guys do for your wire to wire connections? I had heatshrink on mine, along with tape but they have corroded out. This is for a battery to sounder connection, which came like the attached image.

The screw connector end is all good, its the connection between the raw wires from the battery to the sounders power supply.

I solder mine Dale and heat shrink. I also will smear lanocote grease around any exposed unsoldered parts.

Strip back the reds and blacks and twist each color together. Solder as thoroughly as possible so the solder soaks right into and around all the wires. Put the lanocote grease around the part where solder cant quite reach at the start of the twisted wires. Then heatshrink.

I use heat shrink thru crimps from an electrical wholesaler. They have glue in them so shrink down and completely seal the join.
Oh what a smasher - two eggs and a rasher!

I've not come across crimps with glue in them. I'll try those. I did have standard crimps on before, with heat shrink over the crimp, but as I've found out, that's not really a good seal.

Don't actually have a solder iron, but old man should have one I can use.

I have a few soldering irons Dale you can use. Definitely solder the join. That salt air gets in everything.
