Haven't been on here for a while or on the yak for that matter looks like fishing is picking up. Im on the hunt for a midrange topwater setup been humming and harring between a 10000 saragosa or a 6500hs penn slammer. Anyone got any advice or experience with these?

Gooch ah another kid nice work good luck.

Immaculate out there today. Fishing was tough but I got a feed this time. Lost a big fish first cast, pulled the hook. I rigged light though 15lb and 3/0 jig stars just to try something different.
Luckily got a double hook up soon after on a couple mid 40s. Got another mid 40s later on and a dory.

Short but sweet session from Harrison’s today - not expecting much with gentleman hour launch and poor fish forecast but into them from first cast in 14 metres - drifted out to 19 metres with constant fishing - ended with 6 snaps with best going 54 cm

Went out after work on Wednesday, by the time I drove from Rotorua to Whakatane hit the water just before 6pm.
Short paddle out to the 12.5m mark. And bam first drop nice fat snapper.
Ended up with 6 in the bag the smallest coming in at 36cm.
Lost a monster that hit me on the drop just as the light started to fade, much speculation of a kingi.

Back on dry land by 7:45pm

All caught on 5”jerk shards.
