no wonder you are biting at the bit to get out Muzzfishing. Motor looks a good match with power to burn.

My new rig 2.5 years ago,
Surtees, 7m Gamefisher,
Yamaha 200 HP 4 stroke,
Simrad sounder with 1 kw in hull transducer
Electric toilet etc etc

Pros,, great in rough water, new hull is dry compared with the previous hulls,
Economic,
max speed, 37 kts
Cruise 27 kts @27ltrs per hour
Massive fishing space uncluttered deck
320l inboard fuel tank so off shore capability
Cabin space large enough to sleep in
Easy to tow and not too large to tow around the country side

Cons,  its not an 8m lol (if we could afford)
Haven't found any faults yet, it was purchased for fishing and is more than adequate for Raglan and most other places
Cant beat hunting and Fishing in N.Z

I’d have a Merc these days - by all accounts they work well, heard light on the juice too.

Im not sure where the 'borders ' are.. We can get out the waikato from the Hoods, are the ramps on the Port side closed?

Weekend to around tues, looks like bars flat as but get out from lea of land would be bit ruff out there (???)

We can only dream of having a hull like that...AND well powered for end use.

There's a good ramp at the top of the lake, mate tested his Tristram 7m there,, not sure if its closed as well, I think its part of a park complex, not the one with the road running over the river but further up. Bit Windy today for Rags so maybe the continued lockdown wouldn't matter quite so much.

Couldn't get out to Rags Sat morning, took the boat to Arapuni landing just up from Bulmers, for a fresh water run, lots of boats coming in so timed it right. motored up to the Waipapa dam and back just before the rain started. About 15 mins from the ramp saw a couple of gents on the side amongst the trees, thought they were being friendly but both were waving frantically. Turned out their motor (Merc) had stopped completely and wouldn't start, was overheating they thought but didn't go into Limp mode. They were lucky as I was probably the last person on the lake for the day. we towed them down to the ramp and beached them, apparently the motor hadn't long been serviced so some one is going to have a bad Monday morning. If they had a bucket or some oars they would have made it eventually, unusual to get the motor fault these days with the newer motors
