Well - Dad has been fishing for 2 weeks and caught diddly squat, so Mum & I take dads P13 out for a fish - minus all that stuff like fishfinders etc..... I took my trusty kilwell rod & reel out and a couple of dads SP's. Anyway, in like 10 mins, we had dinner sorted.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

15mins to land fish,
my fishing mate had tried soft baits just prior to Xmas and snared an 18lb snapper, so just had to give it a go, I guess the pillies will stay frozen for a while

Was going to welcome you to the forums but after seeing that I'll stay quiet.

awesome stuff Roy....althought the trolling part of it is a little like trolling for trout...all good but not quite kosher for the purist if ya know what I mean....lol....

I'd love to spend a day chasing alberts on the SP gear....too much fun!...troll the bungees to ya find a patch then casting and dropping down softbaits....boomshanka...

anyone else interested in tee'ing up a day like that? no marlin gear....well perhaps one 80w for a livebait....

Hi Kezza - No, it wasn't the real thing but still a good work-out on a light outfit.
We just couldn't find the main school to give it a go and eventually lost it completely. We circled, cloverleafed, went up current, down current, deeper and shallower but they'd gone. Perhaps we put the school down.
Sure is a good fun plan. Perhaps have some pillie cubes to chum them in?

I'll talk to my people (got your ears on Billy??) and organise an albie soft plastic slay.....sounds like fun to me.

Agreed Roy....cube them once they are located also keeping a bungee hooked fish in the water will keep them in the area as well.

Great Idea. I'm going to do that on one of the days in Whangaroa in March.
Nobody has ever come up with a great idea after a second bottle of water.
