Would have been top of the fishing comp leader boards also...

Hi, Al.

Yeah, had we not been prevented from fishing the Bridge to Cape kayak comp a week before for family reasons (Orty, good boy, has carried our entry fee forward to his next comp), Nick could have won that Wink - Mike B's 9.345 won it instead.

This one was 9.4kg, a very long and lean fish, unusual for a big snapper at this time of year.  Since BOISC's competition year started on 1 July, we had it weighed at the club and it's Nick's first pinfish.

(He's off to play rugby and do a Master's in marine environmental policy at Cambridge University at the end of next month, so I thought he might like a club pin to take with him and mystify the fenlanders.)

Mind you, Nick's a hell fisherman - was coached and mentored by this forum's Bushkid2 (Nik H) when he was a little guy, and it shows.

Last weekend...

Rod : Synit razor
Reel: Daiwa 3000 lexa
Bait: Zman new penny
Boat: Moet

Caught at anchor while cubing for trevs.  Thought this fish was worthy of a few bite marks on the only rod that could have landed this fish for me...

Yeah a new PB on softplastic, one hell of a scrap maxing out the gear and then some, the fish behaved itself and allowed me to gain line at the right times.  Big ups to the man who grabbed the fish at the boat for me, impressive stuff chocolate!!

Oh and the trevs came too, was an awesome session.
Lads with a triple hook up...oh and skip battling with a funny looking snapperLOL
