Par for the course when someone is killed in a road accident or a boating mishap, the driver/skipper usually gets charged with manslaughter.  Often these sort of incidents (like the way you didn't say accidents Smudge) result in a community type sentence. The person is question here lives two houses up from me so I know a little bit about him and what transpired.

Name suppression lifted and hearing starts 24/7/23be interesting to see if charges as layed hold up.

This case,if found guilty,could have an effect on all water users.
