Who would have thought you would find water like this so close to hauaraki gulf ... actually been here most years around abouts around now,  I’ve just never seen it this good! Have a good look at water in first photo and last one.

Cheers  Steve.. trying again on Friday (good forecast) this time with my little brother as crew… he’s not an experienced  game fisherman but my thinking will be way easier with someone else if lightening strikes twice. He did catch nice 30lb kingi with me off Campbells Bay reef a few years ago… so actually quite a lucky fisherman.
Bit of interest generated, as few other boats looking to head out. Think will have good time… will have few slow jig rods on board as well… to catch a feed.

Sorry Gary just noticed I hadn’t replied. Was a great day and water fantastic.. water gone bit colder now …. and mate went out there Thursday. Said all skippys and bait gone. Purse seiner now also gone. Hopefully few skippys and kahawai if not all dead …come back.Ouch
Is an area I love and will troll lures in future as I have a few times last few years…and hopefully can release a marlin or two.  Provided the seiners leave it alone. Angry
