Out fishing on the firth this morning, I decided to try dragging a Kaveman CJ micro jig behind my little tinny in a about 8mtrs of water. The CJ is a bit like a Blue Blue lure and has got a great action.

Orange and lumo was the colour, I also had the same colour tungsten jig out the back as well. The CJ was the lure and out fished the tungsten 3 fish to 1. Plenty of throw backs around the 300mm but came home with 7 nice snapper around the 400mm and a very respectable gurnard caught on the CJ as well.

Awesome morning out from Waikawa, herd of dolphins came through chasing what looked like white bait and gannet’s driving all around them.

The CJ micro is certainly a very active jig, i find that you dont need to give it much action to work well. Often leave it in rod holder and catch plenty of nice fish. Record is a 25lb snapper
Well done AndrewClap

It’s just another technique to try, I still some days fish by casting forward or slow jig straight up and down. Just depends on the day, the depth and how the fish are taking the jig how I fish.
