Genius, They need to do that at about 15 locations around the North Shore.

Looks real good .. then think about it..
Think it thru...
Creating the slab, or several slabs not a problem..
laying them and putting into place   nps.
Now what is under those slabs?
Do they need to be fully supported with stable ground under them?
What needs to be excavated and poured?
Or maybe steel girders fixed into place?
How far apart so the slabs dont break..

This id the thing with modern media stuff, we jyst get the fancy looking good stuff and no one ever things about what needs to be done to get there, make stable...
In other words only 1/10 of the whole story.

I have no idea about the above questions, pre stressed , or poured slabs
They are just questions that come to mind.

Thats basically how the Torpedo ramp(Devonport) is,layed out slabs and still holding but unfortunately its a drying ramp only good 1/2 tide

Run a dozer down at low tide and place ramp??seems simple enough.

Looks like they use the ramp as a dozer.
Stick a heap of gravel and rock down, compact it, shove a slab down slicing the top off.
Make the pad way bigger than the slab.
you can't fix an idiot with duct tape, but it does muffle them for a while...

My teeth are not like the stars that come out at night steps but sometimes wish they were, like when my dentist presents his "telephone nos bill" for a 45 min routine visit.

I hear you lost your glass eye at Takapuna beach Steps, but against all the odds managed to find it with the help of a "seeing eye dog"

Interesting watch and plan.
But did you see how soft some of the stuff the dozers were in. Skidding.
So what is supporting the slab below water? What prep did they do for it.
Is it going to wash away underneath.
That would be my guess - upended in the next storm surge.
Bit like the pic below at our local beach campground after a flood.

I thought that was a common way of building ramps. When you think about it even at low tide there would never be much additional load weight on the slab as the boat starts getting buoyant.

Yeah heard right, blind left eye, The macular injections seem to be working a little this time round. Not enough to go back to shooting the rifle left handed thu.
At least they are still doing them over L4  next on tues , last was couple days in at the beginning.

Yeah Alan  that was my thoughts.. doesnt take much current to under mine something like that if the foundations are not right... Well anything for that matter where the foundations are not right..
