Hi guys,

I am looking at a 6m glass boat and is quite a big move for me in terms of cost.  Up until now, more of a tinny/outboard sort of joker, so considering having an expert check the boat over.

Particularly want him to focus on Mercruiser 4.3 and Alpha 1 leg, and also transom area/general hull condition.  Be good to get an unbiased opinion to help me along the way in my negotiations.

Do I really need a full-on marine surveyor for this?  Can anyone recommend a surveyor or just a bloody good bloke who knows his stuff that covered Waikato area?

Cheers!

I'd never own a boat with a leg.
All I see is dollars.
On that size boat look for an outboard every time.
Just cruising in my now sweetas pimped out Southern 755 HT0!

Ditto on Mat above.

Motors get checked out.
Hulls, there are several threads in these forums (search button above) that tell you what to look for, where and how.
And if not familar with hu8lls boats etc, if passes your 'short list' then get that checked out by a local workshop that does rebuilds/ repairs, or maybe one of the members here go over it.

I know there ae a couple members here who are very 'one to it' and personally experienced.
