Is the owner of that abandoned house in Welly that burned down taking another with it and burning a few more, going to be hit with a carbon fee?

Is Rotovegas getting taxed for the greenhouse gases their geothermal fields emit?

How many years of harmful vehicle emission equivalents did White island belch when it erupted? Who do we tax for that?

If Ruapehu goes up again, do we levy the ski fields?

If Taupo ever blows again I guess we won't be around to need taxes.

The 'green' geothermal sector is 'looking' at ways to reduce their emissions. Trapping them. Maybe. Tech yet to be developed.
Heard a guy today on EV policy - from Sustainable NZ or similar. Asked about the mining for batteries. Greenwash greenwash - looking at new technology, avoid answering directly blah blah. Another Q about what to do with the batteries. Greenwash greenwash, looking at new technology blah blah, avoid answering directly - ie we have no f...ng idea.
But we are working on it.

She's usually more informed than that. Have to think someone down the food chain was telling her porkies. Let's see if they tweak the policies to recognise there are no good EV alternatives for those of us that need utes, now that it has been brought to her attention. I'd like to see her kick some @rse too for leading her to believe an EV ute option was just around the corner.
