The bit you can't see is a 3.1m swell and 2.9m chop. Great forecast for Sunday but Friday isn't looking too bad

Trip of a lifetime, definitely on my wishlist!
Are you passing through Whakatane on the way there or back?
Would be good to catch up if you are, might even shout coffees in return for the latest intel on the mighty Manukau Gurnard...  WinkThumbs Up

That weather is all over the place for the next few days. And lots of it.
Take your sea legs tablets and good luck.
Didn't know they got gurnard there. Learn stuff every day here.

Might need bigger boat smudge. You can catch carrots off the wharf or the beach so best you take a back up rod or 2

Friday looks OK. The wind is flicking from NW-SE and back sort of thing. So there may be a wind window where it settles in between phases. But I suspect the sea will be confused and messy.
No doubt we will be kept up to date. Good luck.

I'd stay at home.
No cover out there.
Pick another day.
Fishing will probably be good. You'll have to be exceptionally keen.
Just cruising in my now sweetas pimped out Southern 755 HT0!

Friday is our best option and that's the day the skipper has chosen. Arron Sargent was a good contributor to the forums until not so long ago and I put my trust in him. Like you say it WILL be memorable!  Never been on a top end charter that wasn't Big smile

Yeah just the one day Mattoo. The way he does it is to book a 3 day window and Arron Sargent decides on the best day to head out. No brainer in this case as the swell is HUGE on day 2 and 3. Friday is looking reasonable though
