Hi Peoples,
Nah,
Hi guys.
I have a minnkota laungwishing in the shed.
I've seen a few larger craft fit them
Not sure of there effectiveness on a 7.5m boat with such windage.

So I'm looking for insights.

I'd like to see some pics of install on larger boats.
Effectiveness of them in the real world.
Do they suffer from hard riding and trailering over long distances.
What's been your experience.

I have an 80 lb thrust.
Worked great on some of my smaller boats but unsure for this unit.

Any real time insights Greatly appreciated.

M
Just cruising in my now sweetas pimped out Southern 755 HT0!

I used to fish on a mate's 7.5m - 8m glass boat.  He had the 112lb thrust model.  It worked well in <15kts of wind.  Over that and in short troughy conditions it struggled to hold a location but certainly slowed down the drift.  He initially placed the batteries forward but that made the boat perform like a dog.  After moving them further back, no problem.  He would brace the shaft to minimize movement whilst travelling.

Minn Kota recommends min 2lb of thrust for every 100lbs of weight. The other consideration would be shaft length.
