There are some clowns out there, more about that later.
Conditions started off a little sloppy and gradually got worse, we managed a dozen nice pannies and a few kahawai before calling it a day around 11 after the NW built to 15 knots, a highlight for us was seeing those majestic molihawks swooping around behind us with a wingtip skimming the water then settling down to wait for a morsal. A couple of spiny dogs were dispatched, I whip their heads off and Mr molihawk soon cleans out the liver and internals then gives you the once over with that stern look as if to say more please.
on the way back in and approaching the bar, I had just lined up the leads and out the corner of my eye saw something white right beside the boat, was a very small white bouy, some clown had set a longline right smack in line with the leads in 18m of water, not the best place to get a rope tangled around your prop, I called coastguard as per normal for a bar crossing report and informed them of a navigational hazard, I hope whomever set it was suitably admonished, apart from that not too bad a day.
Cheers
