OK home now drinking beer , so story time .
Smudges son Arron and I headed onto the muddy launching at 8:30 and heading up to the Snapakura channel reef system .
Hopes were high but we both had a feeling of elation being able to get out there after lockdown .
Long story short , that was the only legal fish I caught all day .
Arron did better putting 3 or 4 smaller snappers in the bin along with a couple of nice carrots .
My snapper took a half bullet tuna on a 10/0 circle straylined out the back on my old school BTR4500 and Taipan rod .
Estimated at 15lb , it went 14.5lb/6.63 kg on the scales .
And as I told Arron , it's all about quality , not quantity LOL

So good to get out there again Thumbs Up

Was so good to see that big fish Skoti! Talking to Out West today he said the radio was all over a 15lb snapper caught in the harbour. Legends! I know some very good fishermen but I don't know anyone who has caught more big snapper in the harbour than you. Apart from your dad. He's king of the legends Big smile

1 15lb thats still over 5lb just in fillets...
Then there is the frame and head meat...And as with all meat  that which is next to the bone is the best...

Glad went well for you guys.
